New Info - NY Trip Information

Booster Parents,
 
Below is some information for the NY trip scheduled in June.  The first notice was received too late.  If you are really interested in the discount, let me know and I will talke to Smithsonian.
 
*Cyber Day for $25 off the program fee! Anyone who enrolls on December 5th will receive the discount.  Enroll on the 5th, they will only need to pay the $99 deposit and their monthly payments will begin in January after the holidays.  
 
*Your students can now access their contribution pages from their personal secure sites. Seeing how the holiday season is around the corner, this is a great time of the year for your participants to take advantage of using some holiday money towards their tour. I made you an email template you can blast out to your group explaining how to access it and use it: Get contributions for your upcoming tour! Get help from friends, family and sponsors to raise money for your tour. All you have to do is log into your Smithsonian Student Travel account, click on the contribution tab in the left hand side of the screen and copy the generated link on the bottom of the page. Share the link to your personal page and anyone can make secure online payments that will directly fund your tour. Copy this link for use in email, Facebook, twitter, etc. Be sure to include a personal message as to why you want a contribution. Reminder Parent Booster Meeting - December 6, 2012

Reminder:   We all agreed at the last meeting to start recycling alumini cans and plastic bottles on behalf of the team.  Please bring to the meeting your collection in large trash bags.

Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser - December 8 and 15 - Tickets Distribute

Attention Parents,

The Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser tickets were distributed to the team during 0 Period this morning.  Each team member received 6 tickets = 3 for December 8 and 3 for December 15.  Also distributed is a list of the team members who will be working on December 8 or the 15th = serving breakfast, hosting, busing, etc.  Job assignments will be given to the team during the week of December 3.  Attached are flyers if needed.

Please note:  All team members will be either working or attending the event = one of your 6 tickets must be purchased for the team member.  The tickets must be presented at Applebee’s for entrance by everyone.  Due to the All Male’s VIBE performance on December 15, they will attend/work on December 8.  The rest of the team that are attending (not working) will come on either December 8 or 15 (choice is yours on which day to attend).  Attendance will be taken at each event to ensure everyone does participate.

We're celebrating our One Year Anniversary on Saturday, November 10, with FREE dance classes and open gym ALL DAY for ALL AGES!!! See below flier for classes. We hope you and your teams/friends/siblings/kids will be able to stop by and take advantage of the day!

We also have some great vendors that will be there... the KOGI BBQ truck for lunch, artist Angel ONCE who will be doing discounts on shoe customization (just bring a pair of clean shoes), the Fade Master will be giving discounted haircuts and designs, and MASSES and Acrylick clothing lines will be there to celebrate as well. 

We will be doing some discounts and promotions on our classes packages for new students, so it's a great time to get signed up if you're interested!!

Friday Important Notices - Football Home Game & Booster Parent Meeting Nov 8

There will be a home football game this Friday, Nov 9....that means parents who have not yet volunteered for their snack shop commitment must sign up now.  Please note, due to circumstances beyond our control, the Sharp Comp on Dec 1 has been cancelled.  Therefore, parents need to work the snack shop.   Respond to this email by Wednesday afternoon to sign up.  Parents who do not sign up will be charged $50 per missed game (max charge of $100).

Parent Booster Meeting Change & Dance-A-Thon

The November 1st Booster Parent meeting has been recheduled to next Thursday, Nov 8.  Please remember to update your calendars.
 
Dance-a-Thon:   This Friday - Nov 2 - all pledge forms, ticket stubs, and money are to be submitted at 0 period.  The team is to report on Sunday, Nov 4, to the registration table in front of the gym by 8:30am.   Spectators may arrive anytime after 9am.  Tickets will be sold at the door for the event only ($5).  If anyone wants to be included in the lunch, money must be submitted on Friday.

Dance-a-Thon is just 9 days away.   Deadline for submitting the Pledge forms/money and ticket stubs/money is next Friday, November 2.   If you are ready to turn them in now, you may do so this Friday (Oct 26) at 0 Period.  If you need more tickets to attend the event/lunch, just let Joan Aguero at 626-260-0091 know, and she can get them to you.

Team Parents - Important Announcements

Attention Team Parents,

Today (Oct 18) at 6pm is the last day for team members to be measured for their team warm-ups.  Please remind your kids to meet with Mrs. Galvan in Room D5 (Mrs. J’s room) if they have not been measured.   For those who do not show up, our best guess for the size will be ordered.

The November Booster Parent Meeting (Nov 1) is rescheduled to November 8.  Please update your respective calendars accordingly.  Reminder - bring your trash bags of alumini cans/plastic water bottles to the meeting.

Reminder for the new Booster Parents – The $100 deposit for new team members is now past due.  Please provide your payment this Friday morning (Oct 19) at 0 period.   Uniforms (including warm-ups) will not be distributed if the deposit has not been paid.

Important Announcements for All Team Parents

Kindle Drawing & Viejas Turnaround - Ms Mojica will be at 0 Period this Friday (September 28) to collect the Kindle Drawing money/stubs and the Viejas Turnaround registration forms.

Viejas Turnaround – Due date is Monday, Oct 1.  I will be at 0 Period to collect remaining registrations.

New York Trip – Due to Nationals conflicting with going to NY in March, the trip has been rescheduled to occur June 8 thru 11.  To take advantage of the $50 discount, the deadline to register and submit your deposit is September 30.  After that date, the discount does not apply.  You may still register afterwards, but at the higher price.  Website:  https://www.smithsonianstudenttravel.com/secure/login.aspx. Disney Marathon Permission Slips - Due Friday (Aug 31) at 0-Period

Booster Parents - Permission slips for the team to participate in the Disney Marathon this Sunday (Sept 2) are ready.  The team performs and cheers on the sidelines for the runners.  If your child has not picked up the slips, they are taped to Mrs Julien's classroom windows.
These permission slips must be filled out and returned to Mrs Julien by Friday (Aug 31) at 0 period.

Sept. Parent Booster Meeting Change & Upcoming Team Events

Parents - Due to the team performing at the LA County Fair, the Sept 6  the Parent meeting will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Sept 5.  Please update your respective calendars accordingly.  Also, below is a brief list of events that the team will be participating within the next 2 weeks.  More details will be forthcoming and are subject to change.
August 31, Friday – Rally performance at the school
August 31, Friday – Football Performance = 12 minute performance.
Sept 2, Sunday – Disney Marathon = Supporting the runners by cheering and dancing.  Drivers will be needed. More details to follow.
Sept 6, Thursday – LAC Fair.  More details to follow.
Sept 8, Saturday – Volunteer for CA Council of the Blind’s 2K/5K run/walk Mutt Strut in Pasadena.  More details to follow.
Sept 14, Friday - Football Performance = 6 minute performance
Sept 28, Friday – Football Performance = 6 minute performance
Sept 10 thru 21 = Tentative dates for workshops for new team tryouts

Important Notice!- Tumbling Class Changed to August 17th

The instructor for the tumbling class has a conflict on Friday, August 10, that cannot be rescheduled. Therefore, the tumbling class is now scheduled to start on Friday, August 17.  Classes will still run from 5 PM to 7 PM.
As a reminder checks will not be accepted. Monthly payment of $16 to be paid on August 17th.
